Hello and welcome to Pretty Planet, my name is Tula, I’m a thirty something year old typical cancerian from Milton Keynes in the UK. I’m a wife to my amazing husband Sean who I have been with since the young age of 19, and he needs a medal for putting up with me and my quirks. I have two gorgeous cats that I absolutely adore – YES I’m that crazy cat/animal woman! I have a slight OCD with cleaning and organising. I’m forever planning trips, sometimes even before we have returned from one.
Pretty Planet is a blog and venture I started up to share information, tips and experiences of travelling the world. I’ve been obsessed with travelling and seeing the world for as long as I can remember, and wanted to start up a travel blog for such a long time, and finally built up the confidence to do so back in 2017. My blog is now a space where I can gather together everything that I love about travel, life and everything that inspires me.
My true travel passion is travelling to places in Asia and Oceania as much as I possibly can. I can’t quite explain my obsession for these continents of the world, but when I visit them is when I feel at my happiest. I have been extremley fortunate over the years to travel to lots of places, and even taken a unpaid leave from work in the past to go travelling for a few months. Over the years I have managed to travel to over 70 countries and ventured to 6 out of the 7 continents.
I live and work in the UK and I’m a self confessed travel addict. I knew from when I was around 14 years old that I wanted to travel the world! I started a travel and tourism course at college after leaving school, and went onto university to study it further. Since I graduated I have worked in the travel and tourism industry working a whole range of jobs from hotels, travel agents and in corporate travel and events.
I am now cabin crew for a large international airline based in London, and am lucky enough to have layovers with work, it really is my dream job. I knew I wanted to be cabin crew from a young age when I was at school, but put it off for years and worked in other areas within the hospitality industry. I finally plucked up the courage to apply, as I thought I’m not getting any younger and it’s now or never, and I haven’t looked back since. As cheesy as it sounds it’s really one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and how many people can actually say they enjoy their job?!
I would describe myself as loud and sometimes outspoken and also a girly girl. My husband always jokes and calls me a high maintenance hippie, as I’m girly but also have a hippie side to me. Which reflects why I like such a mix of different types of trips and holidays. I like all styles of travel from luxury holidays, to backpacking on a budget, city breaks, girly weekends away and obviously layovers with work. I wanted to create a blog for ages, as I love talking about travel, and often have friends and family messaging me and coming to me for travel advice.
I hope you find this blog an interesting read, and I want to cover a whole range of travel topics on here from destination guides, travel tips, packing tips and for anyone wanting to apply for cabin crew, there will be some information on the job role too.
If you have any questions or would like to see me add something on here, please drop me a message in the contact section. I’m always updating my blog in between flights, and there’s so much I still want to add to my little space on the internet, so add your email below to get notifications when new blogs are uploaded.
